As the Internet grows, so does it’s negative aspects. It’s incredibly easy to track people you know on social networking sites and keep up with their latest happenings. I guess the Internet somewhat encourages you to put yourself out there, speaking of social networks such as MySpace or Facebooks, blogs, online journals ect… and there’s nothing wrong or illegal about it. Everyone’s doing it, but you should be careful how much of your life and innermost personal feelings you’re willing to share.
As I’m reading about an American sex assault victim seeking compensation faces the prospect of her MySpace and Facebook pages being produced in court or a Texan driver whose car was involved in a fatal accident (one of his MySpace postings could now get him into trouble “I’m not an alcoholic, I’m a drunkaholic”) found his MySpace posts part of the prosecution’s case.
Are social networks evil?
To be calling any form of personal expression on the net “evil” is far stretched, 10 years ago they may have checked your police records, now they’re after your Facebook and MySpace entries. What anyone puts on there is really up to them, be smart when sharing personal stuff though.
