Nowadays there’s an enormous amount of development and application tools available. No matter what your needs or demands.
A whole lot of applications however do not live up to the quality standards of the industry.
One particular application I have heard about is the Skyway Builder which allows users to create applications and web services without great expertise in Code generation. In fact, the program allows you to work without writing any code, features drag and drop and wizards guide you through the set ups.
The open source version of Skyway Builder is particularly interesting for anyone who appreciates open source.
It also supports integration into Eclipse, full web application modeling, extensible models, build your own building blocks, integration of custom Java code with models and lots more.
Technical terms aside. The fact that this program is easy to use makes it certainly stand out. Applications like these can take up a big amount of time just to get used to but Skyway Builder is apparently easy to learn. Also extensible for individual and even corporate use.
Another great aspect about this application is that it is compatible with various other open source databases and web servers.
The getting started page at http://www.skywayperspectives.org/portal/web/guest/gettingstarted is a great overview and gets you going within minutes. All in all this is certainly a nifty tool I’d like to try!
