Stars of reality TV shows such as Britain’s Got Talent and The X Factor should be paid the minimum wage, union bosses demanded today.
They accused programme makers of ‘exploiting and humiliating’ vulnerable people by misleading them into thinking they can succeed in the entertainment industry.
Jean Rodgers, vice president of the actors’ union Equity said reality shows were the ‘modern equivalent of a Victorian freak-show’.
